Nanosoil's technology helps deliver agrochemicals directly to the plants and minimise the residues to the environment by using nanoparticles.

NanoSoils

NanoSoils delivers agrochemicals directly to the plants and minimise the residues to the environment by using nanoparticles. We precisely make silica particles at the nanoscale to help plants absorb silica via root or leaves easier. Because the agrochemicals are loaded inside silica nanoparticles, this technology enables to concentrate agrochemicals inside nanostructure, protect pesticide loss or degradation by nature condition.

Consequently, it will enhance efficiency over extended durations and protect the crop for a longer time. When the silica nanoparticle comes in contact with plant roots or leaves, it releases the pesticide content. In nature, silica is one of the most abundant minerals widely distributed in sand and dust. As such, it is environmentally sourced and degraded.

Our vision is to help farmers reduce 50% pesticide residues and contributes to the net zero emissions by 2050.

Meet the Founder

Cong Vu, Founder

Dr Cong Vu is a postdoc research associate in Chemistry, UNSW Sydney. He originally used silica nanoparticles for biomedical application, particularly for anticancer drug delivery to kill the cancer cells. His team is expanding the findings from nanomedicine research to nanosoils for pesticide and fertiliser delivery.
